Commissioning

818 is a custom-built superyacht constructed by Royal van Lent. Maritime Projects was engaged to provide project management, technical management and commissioning support throughout the build process.

In this role, Maritime Projects coordinated technical disciplines, monitored build progress and supported decision-making during construction. Particular attention was given to system integration, quality control and verification during the commissioning phase, ensuring that all systems performed in accordance with specification and design intent.

Through structured oversight and close cooperation with the shipyard and project stakeholders, Maritime Projects contributed to a controlled build process and a smooth transition from construction to delivery.

Breakthrough

Quality control

Breakthrough is a landmark project in the development of emission-free yacht technology. Maritime Projects acted as owner’s representative throughout the build, safeguarding the owner’s interests during the design development and construction of this highly innovative Feadship yacht.

In this role, Maritime Projects supported the owner in evaluating and integrating advanced sustainability solutions, coordinating between the shipyard, designers, engineers and specialist suppliers. Particular attention was given to the feasibility, safety and practical implementation of new technologies, while maintaining Feadship’s standards for quality, reliability and comfort.

By providing independent oversight and structured project management, Maritime Projects contributed to a controlled decision-making process and consistent execution of the owner’s ambition: a future-oriented yacht that demonstrates a credible transition away from fossil fuels without compromising performance or luxury.

Anchorage

Project Management

Maritime Projects was contracted by Thecla Bodewes Shipyards to provide project management services for the hopper dredger MV Anchorage.

The vessel is a technically advanced twin-screw diesel-electric hopper dredger. During the build, ownership of the project was transferred to De Hoop Terneuzen, resulting in a change of stakeholder requirements and a significantly shortened lead time.

Maritime Projects coordinated the project in close cooperation with Thecla Bodewes Shipyards and De Hoop Terneuzen, aligning technical, planning and organisational aspects. Through structured project management and clear communication, the vessel was completed and delivered on schedule.

Aston Martin AM37

Project management

Quintessence Yachts is the exclusive license holder for the production of Aston Martin Powerboats. Maritime Projects was contracted to support the concept and product development of the Aston Martin AM37 and to assist in structuring future model development.

The assignment focused on continuous product development of the AM37, alongside mapping the processes required to transition from a prototype-driven organisation to a sales- and serial-production–oriented operation. Maritime Projects supported this transition by advising on standardisation, quality monitoring, engineering optimisation and production process development.

In parallel, Maritime Projects monitored the production schedule and overall product quality of the AM37, ensuring consistency without compromising design integrity or build standards. A significant part of the work was carried out on-site in the United Kingdom, supporting close collaboration with local teams and suppliers.

The AM37 is a high-performance 37-foot day boat that combines performance, craftsmanship and unmistakable Aston Martin design. Through Maritime Projects’ involvement, Quintessence Yachts strengthened its product maturity, production control and scalability, while preserving the distinctive character of the brand.

Juice Express

Owner representation

MV Juice Express was delivered by GSHI Shipyard to Seatrade in the Netherlands. The vessel is a purpose-designed freighter featuring stainless steel tanks for frozen and chilled juice transport, complemented by deck cargo capacity.

Groot Ship Design, as designer of the vessel, contracted Maritime Projects to provide overall project management for the engineering phase. Our scope included the delivery and coordination of the complete basic engineering package to GSHI Shipyard in Zhongshan, China.

Maritime Projects worked closely with the shipyard to ensure correct interpretation and implementation of the design. This involved on-site visits to support the integration of the basic design into the yard’s detailed engineering model, contributing to a controlled and consistent build process.
